Bundesliga: Sony Pictures Networks India acquires 2021-2023 media rights in 7 countries

Sony Pictures Networks India has acquired the broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives for the 2021-2023 cycle, announced Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of the DFL, on 13/10/2021.

The matches will be broadcast on the Indian group's linear sports channels as well as on the OTT platform SonyLIV.

Sony Pictures Networks India, which holds the broadcasting rights to UEFA's club and national team competitions, lost the rights to broadcast LaLiga Santander and Serie A TIM from the 2021-22 season to Viacom 18, a joint venture between the US media conglomerate ViacomCBS and Indian media conglomerate Network 18, which also acquired the rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats for the 2021-2024 cycle. The broadcasting rights to the Premier League are held by the media group Star India.
