Liga BBVA: FC Barcelona surpass 25m followers on their 15 Twitter accounts

FC Barcelona (Liga) have surpassed 25m followers on their 15 Twitter accounts, they announced on 27/07/2014. Twitter is a social network.

FC Barcelona first landed on Twitter in 2008 and now have accounts for their football team in eight languages (Spanish, Catalan, English, French, Arabic, Japanese, Indonesian and Portuguese), an account for their training centre (Masia), their peñas (fan clubs), their web video portal, and their other sports sections (basketball, handball, futsal, and field hockey).

With 12.2m followers, the account for FC Barcelona in English (@fcbarcelona) is the most-followed sports club account in the world. Real Madrid's Spanish account (12m followers) comes in second. Barça's Spanish account (6.85m followers) and Catalan account (4.40m followers) are the 3^rd and 4^th most popular.

With more than 120m fans across all social networks, Barça are the most active sports entity on social media.
