Spain: launch of "LaLiga Grassroots", a programme to promote grassroots football worldwide

LaLiga has launched "LaLiga Grassroots", a programme that reflects its commitment "to support and promote grassroots football around the world," announced the Spanish professional league on 14/10/2021.

"LaLiga Grassroots will take LaLiga's sports and academic methodology to a new level in order to further strive for sporting excellence in bringing through young players and training coaches both nationally and internationally," said LaLiga.

"This initiative is part of a series of international sports projects that LaLiga has been running since 2015 across multiple markets, and its most salient new feature is this series of programmes which will take place in Spain. These will mainly be held at the ESC Madrid Center, a state-of-the-art, world-beating sports complex (see below)," explained the body.

Among the annual programmes envisaged for 13-18 year olds (from September 2022 to June 2023) are LaLiga Talents (high performance, coaching towards the top level) and LaLiga Academy (optimisation of players' skills in a sporting and educational experience, open to all football enthusiasts).
