FFF: Executive committee confirms promotion of RC Lens to Ligue 1, with conditions

The executive committee of the FFF (French Football Federation) confirmed the promotion of RC Lens to Ligue 1 on 28/07/2014. The committee took the advice of the designated mediator from the CNOSF (French Olympic Committee), who said he was in favour of RC Lens's promotion to Ligue 1 on 25/07/2014.

"The executive committee of the French Football Federation decided to adopt the proposal to substitute a ban on promotion to Ligue 1 for the condition that RC Lens cap their payroll and/or accept supervision on recruitment," said the executive committee.

"In accordance with the mediator's proposal, the executive committee therefore asks the relevant body, the DNCG, to meet as soon as possible to determine the appropriate measures to be taken for RC Lens' participation in Ligue 1," added the executive committee.

The DNCG (the French National Directorate of Management Control) did not approve the provisional budget of RC Lens, finding that it had insufficient financial guarantees, and suspended the promotion of the club to Ligue 1 on 27/06/2014. The appeal committee confirmed these decisions…
