Rowing: Vincent Gaillard (ex-EPCR), appointed executive director of the international federation

Vincent Gaillard has been appointed secretary general and executive director of World Rowing, the international rowing federation, as of January 2022, announced the body on 14/10/2021. He replaces Matt Smith, who has held the post since 1995.

Rowing's international governing body is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, as is the EPCR, from which Vincent Gaillard stepped down as chief executive after six years, in autumn 2021.

"He will be taking on a new role as both an investor and developer with a New York-based apparel start-up brand ahead of its international launch in early 2022, as well as non-executive functions with the Geneva-based Centre for Sport and Human Rights. Those positions are in addition to continuing as vice-president of the non-governmental organisation, Sport & Sustainability International," explained the EPCR on 15/07/2021.
