2021-22 Bundesliga: attendance for Matchday 8 (26,704 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 8 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season drew an average of 26,704 spectators per match, from Friday 15 to Sunday 17/10/2021. The average fill rate was 68.4%.

These low figures, unusual in the German championship, can be explained by the limited capacities imposed by the public authorities in all German regions since the start of the season due to the health crisis relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. The average attendance for Matchday 8, however, was the best so far this season, with seven of the nine Bundesliga stadiums that hosted a game experiencing a significant increase in capacity.

Borussia Dortmund - 1.FSV Mainz 05 (3-1), on Saturday 16/10/2021 (kick-off 15:30 CET), was the game that posted the best attendance since the beginning of the season with 63,812 spectators at the Signal Iduna Park (Dortmund, GER), for a fill rate of 78.4%.
