Matchday 8 of the 2021-22 Serie A TIM season drew an average of 17,204 spectators per game, from Saturday 16 to Monday 18/10/2021. The average fill rate was 47.7%.

These unusually low numbers for the Italian championship can be explained by the restrictions in force in all Italian stadiums due to the health crisis resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. The authorities, through a decree on 22/07/2021, had fixed the capacity of stadiums at 50%, with a checkerboard layout (one seat occupied, one seat empty). However, this cap rose to 75% on Matchday 8, without this generating a spectacular growth in terms of attendance.

AC Milan - Hellas Verona FC (3-2), on 16/10/2021 (kick-off at 20:45 CET), was the match that posted the best attendance with 40,128 spectators at the San Siro (Milan, ITA), for a fill rate of 51.2%.

The average attendance of the 2021-22 Serie A TIM, which is on the rise, is just 13,772 spectators per game after eight matchdays, for an average fill rate of 37.2%.
