Serie A: Sky Italia interested in TV rights package C for the Italian first division for 2015-18

The Italian pay-TV group Sky Italia has submitted a bid for the acquisition of TV rights package C for Serie A for 2015-2018, announced Lega Serie A (the professional league that manages the Italian first division) on 28/07/2014.

Package C is for additional, exclusive content (it gives access to the locker rooms, access tunnel and sidelines) for the holder of package A or package B of the tender launched by the League on 19/05/2014. Packages A (satellite) and B (DTT) relate to the live broadcasting of home and away games for eight out of the 20 teams in Serie A (including Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, SSC Napoli and AS Roma) for 248 total matches per season. Sky Italia has package A, while the pay- and free-TV broadcaster Mediaset has package B and package D (live broadcast of the league's 12 other teams' matches between themselves, for a total of 132 games per season).
