Austria: Gerhard Milletich elected president of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB)

Gerhard Milletich, born on 01/05/1956, has been elected as President of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB / Österreichische Fußball-Bund) by 11 votes to 2 on 17/10/2021. He succeeds Leo Windtner, who has held this position since February 2009 and who becomes honorary president of the ÖFB.

"I want to say thank you for the trust and good faith that the ÖFB has put in me. I have received an unbelievable amount of gratitude and appreciation from all sides. The ÖFB is set for the future," said the newly elected president, who had been president of the Burgenland (Austria's easternmost state) regional football federation, for nine years.

"I have proved that I have strong expertise in economics and football. In my new role, I want to combine those two fields as well as possible," added Gerhard Milletich.
