"The pandemic and the French football rights situation have impacted other properties like us. Not only us, but basketball in general, except the NBA. The LNB (French National Basketball League) rights and the games of the French national team have not been awarded as far as i know. There was interest in the EuroLeague from French broadcasters, but their commitment, especially financially, did not meet the expectations we had," said Alex Ferrer Kristjansson, senior director, marketing and communication at EuroLeague Basketball, to News Tank, on 19/10/2021.

"Over the last years we have invested in many ways in France, which is a key market for us, and the fanbase is growing. Not having a broadcaster is clearly not good news, but it is also an opportunity for us to explore new ways of talking to our fans.
