Dominic McKay (SCO) has been appointed as a non-executive director and interim chairman of EPCR, organiser of the Heineken Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup, announced the European body on 21/10/2021.

The Scotsman will temporarily replace Simon Halliday, who stepped down after six and a half years at the helm of the EPCR on 06/10/2021. Vincent Gaillard also stepped down as chief executive after six years in autumn 2021.

Dominic McKay was previously chief executive of Celtic FC (Cinch Premiership) between July and September 2021 and worked for the Scottish Rugby Union between 2008 and 2021, initially as director of communications and public affairs before joining the board in 2013 and being appointed chief operating officer in 2015. He was also chairman of the Pro14 (2013-2021), which was renamed the United Rugby Championship for the 2021-22 season.
