FC Barcelona: members to vote on a redefined Espai Barça project (€1.5bn, +150%) on 23/10/2021

The Espai Barça, a major project to modernise FC Barcelona's (LaLiga Santander) infrastructure, has been updated by president Joan Laporta's board of directors, which now values it at €1.5bn, up from €600m in 2014, according to the club's members during its ordinary general assembly on 17/10/2021.

This increased amount is broken down as follows:
• €900m for the renovation of the Camp Nou (increased to 105,000 capacity and covered with a roof including 30,000 m2 of solar panels, work expected to be completed by the end of 2025);
• €420m for the construction of the new Palau Blaugrana (15,000-capacity arena);
• €100m for the development of the surrounding area and the Barça Campus (which will include the club store, the museum and a Hall of Fame)
• €60m for investments agreed to in the MPGM (Modification of the General Metropolitan Plan)
• €20m for possible improvements to the Johan-Cruyff Stadium (6,000 capacity, to be inaugurated in summer 2019).
