Ligue 1: TF1 to recover highlights via Amazon for its Téléfoot programme, for 1st time in 14 years

The free-TV group TF1 has sub-licensed the rights to broadcast the Sunday morning magazine (not operated by Amazon) for its Ligue 1 Uber Eats Téléfoot programme from 24/10/2021 until the end of the 2021-22 season. These rights were acquired for less than €1m according to the French daily daily Le Figaro.

The first part of the programme "Téléfoot l'Actu" will become "Téléfoot Ligue 1". "Each programme generally comprises around 40 minutes of video. With this agreement, we have more than enough time to cover and comment on Ligue 1," said Julien Millereux, director of sports at TF1, to Le Figaro. The channel will have access to highlights from all league matches, including those broadcast on Canal+.

The Téléfoot programme (created in 1977) has not broadcast highlights of Ligue 1 matches since 2007. There have been no free Ligue 1 highlights, outside the Free Ligue 1 application (digital rights), since the start of the 2020-21 season.
