AS Roma: a turnover of €190.4m (+34.8%) and net loss of €185.3m in 2020-21

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) posted a turnover of €190.4m (excluding capital gains on player transfers) in the 2020-21 financial year (from 01/07/2020 to 30/06/2021), up 34.8% versus 2019-20 (€141.2m), according to the annual accounts approved by the club's board on 22/10/2021.

With the exception of ticketing revenue (€12.9m, -50.7%), all of the Roman club's revenue sources were up, starting with TV rights (€124.2m, +54.7%), which grew strongly due to Roma's good run in the 2020-21 Europa League (elimination in the semi-final), by also specifying that part of the amounts received for the 2019-20 edition of the competition (for which the club had reached the Round of 16, partly postponed from March to August 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic) were paid and therefore recognised in the 2020-21 financial year. A portion of the 2019-20 Serie A TIM TV rights - approximately €20m - was also paid to AS Roma at the beginning of the 2020-21 financial year, as the season was only completed on 02/08/2020.
