Bologna FC 1909 (Serie A TIM) posted a turnover of €78m (excluding capital gains on player transfers) in the 2020-21 financial year (from 01/07/2020 to 30 /06/2021), up 41.8% versus 2019-20 (€55m), announced the Italian club on 25/10/2021.

This increase in revenue is mainly due to the deferral of payment of part of the Serie A TV rights for the 2019-20 season, nine matchdays of which were played in July and August 2020, beyond the end of the financial year. As such, Bologna FC received €12m in 2020-21.

"For the second year in a row, the financial year was heavily disrupted by the emergency linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, which led to the closure of stadiums and the consequent impossibility for the public to attend matches. Advertising revenues were further impacted and the transfer market was also affected," said the club, which posted a net loss of €30.9m, versus a deficit of €39.4m in 2019-20.

"Shareholders' equity amounted to €16.2m, while the net financial position was negative by €4.6m, substantially unchanged from the previous year," added Bologna FC.
