China: CCTV resumes the broadcast of European Top 5 leagues with Bundesliga and Ligue 1

The Chinese public broadcasting group CCTV has resumed the broadcast of European Top 5 leagues, with the Bundesliga (since the beginning of October 2021) and the Ligue 1 Uber Eats (since 24/10/2021).

Bundesliga International has signed a three-year agreement (2021-2024) with CCTV to broadcast four games per matchday of the German league, two of which will be shown on both the group's linear channels and streaming platform and two on the platform only. The Bundesliga also has non-exclusive streaming contracts with Tencent, Migu, Bytedance, Huya, Dongqiudi and Bytedance. The rights to the Bundesliga were initially held by PP Sports (PPTV), an Internet and mobile streaming platform belonging to the Suning group, but this contract was terminated following non-payment.

The duration of the contract with the LFP (via beIN Media Group, which holds the international broadcasting rights until 2023-24) has not been communicated and the Chinese media group will broadcast two games per matchday of the French championship.
