Ooredoo, a Qatari telecommunications operator, has become a "regional supporter" of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, announced FIFA on 08/11/2021. The competition will take place in the Persian Gulf emirate from 21/11 to 18/12/2022.

Ooredoo joins GWC (logistics) and QNB Group (banking) as the third largest sponsor of the first football World Cup in the Middle East. The partnership also covers the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar from 30/11 to 18/12/2021. Ooredoo has been appointed as the "official telecommunications operator" for the Middle East and Africa. "Ooredoo was also a national supporter of the 2019 and 2020 editions of the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar," explained the International Federation.

Ooredoo is also a premium partner (second level) of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats). The Qatari group is PSG's back shirt sponsor, as well as is the title sponsor of the club's training ground.
