Italy: "Apprenticeship, an important tool not only from a fiscal point of view" (U. Calcagno, AIC)

"Apprenticeship is a very important tool for our industry and not only from a fiscal point of view. It is a way to allow our young players to benefit from support outside the sporting context," said Umberto Calcagno, president of the Italian Footballers' Association (AIC) since 30/11/2020, in an interview with TMW Radio on 08/11/2021.

"With lower labour costs, there will be more young people in whom clubs will want to invest, with the possibility of creating a training and professionalisation pathway for them not just in football," explained the leader of the AIC, born on 06/09/1970 and president since 30/11/2020,
regarding the introduction of apprenticeships in the world of football in the Finance Bill adopted by the Italian Council of Ministers on 28/10/2021.

"This is a revolutionary measure that will generate positive effects in the economic field, but above all at a social level," said Gabriele Gravina, FIGC president, on 29/10/2021.
