The pay-TV operator Sky Mexico has extended its LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank broadcasting rights, in Mexico and Central America, for the 2024-2032 cycle, announced LaLiga on 10/11/2021.

The overall deal would be worth €500m, according to the Spanish daily El Confidencial, and would thus increase from an average of €30m per season to more than €60m (€62.5m). "The participation of Mediapro and LaLiga North America (a joint venture between LaLiga and US promoter Relevent Sports) in the negotiations was decisive in increasing the value of the competition's audiovisual rights, while other European leagues have seen the value of their rights decrease," said LaLiga.

The new agreement also includes the broadcasting of one free-to-air game per matchday, according to the Spanish daily.
