Premier League: Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský acquires 27% of West Ham United FC's capital

"West Ham United FC (Premier League) is pleased to announce that Czech investment group 1890s holdings a.s has completed the acquisition of 27% shares of WH Holding Ltd.," announced the English club on 10/11/2021. 1890s Holdings a.s is headed by billionaire Daniel Křetínský, who already owns Sparta Prague (CZE).

"As part of the agreement, it is intended that 1890s holdings a.s chairman Daniel Křetínský and his colleague Pavel Horský will become members of the board of directors of WH Holding Ltd. A successful global investor, businessman and lawyer, Mr Křetínský's investment follows diligent negotiations with the shareholders, including West Ham United joint-chairmen David Sullivan  (now a major shareholder of 38.8%, versus 51.5% prior to the deal) and David Gold (25.1%)," added the London club, which is one of five Premier League clubs in 2021-22 with a major shareholder who is British (see below).
