England: The FA presents its strategic plan for women's professional football (2021-2024)

The Football Association has presented its "Women's Professional Game Strategy 2021-2024" (document available to download), which aims "to build on the momentum generated over the last three years," said The FA on 09/11/2021.

According to The FA, the plan - which intends to make the Barclays FA Women's Super League (first division) and FA Women's Championship (second division) "the best women's leagues in the world" - is focused around "three strategic goals:
• Produce and attract world class talent
• Maximise and engage audiences
• Grow commercial revenue and financial sustainability."

The strategic plan also sets out targets which, if met by 2024, will "determine the success of the strategy. This includes:
• Investment in the workforce with an ambition that a minimum of 50% of the head coaches across the top two divisions are female.
• Attendance growth with an average of 6,000 fans per week in the BFAWSL, 1000 in the FA Women’s Championship, and the goal of selling out the Vitality Women's FA Cup Final - all by 2024.
