Stuttgart: Revenues up for 2013-14; automaker Daimler to acquire stake in club in 2015

VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga) had a turnover of €114.8m in 2013-14, a €5.6m increase (up 5.1%) compared to 2012-13 (€109.2m), the club said during their general assembly on 28/07/2014.

The VfB finished 2013-14 with a net loss of €3.1m, two times less than what the president Bernd Wahler had predicted on 14/01/2014. In 2012-13, Stuttgart had finished the financial year with a €9.74m net loss. The club's capital stock was down by €8.7m in 2013-14, and the VfB's debt was at €5.1m on 31/12/2013.

"We have a plan to increase our revenues. We already know in which sectors to focus our efforts. But we will not publicly release the details of our plan," said Bernd Wahler, VfB Stuttgart's president, on 28/07/2014. VfB Stuttgart Marketing GmbH, the subsidiary that manages the German club's partnerships, announced that it was pleased to have increased the club's sponsorship revenues by 10% for 2014-15 on 31/07/2014.
