Spain: Yolanda García Cuevas named sports director of public broadcaster TVE

Yolanda Garcia Cuevas (ESP) was named the new sports director of TVE, the Spanish public TV channel confirmed to News Tank on 05/08/2014.

She had been the deputy director of TV sports rights acquisitions at TVE since 2010. She is replacing Jesus Alvarez, who had the role since 2012, and who will become the director for coordination of sports coverage at TVE.

The Spanish public broadcaster RTVE, the parent company of TVE, on 14/05/2014 acquired the TV, radio, internet and mobile rights to the qualifying matches of the Spanish team for Euro 2016 (France, 10/06 to 10/07/2016), and for the 2018 World Cup (Russia), for €39m.
