UEFA: Partial stadium closings given to four clubs for racist behaviour by some of their fans

The UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body handed down sentences of partial stadium closures on 05/08/2014 for four clubs: Steaua Bucharest (Romania), VSC Debrecen (Hungary), NK Maribor (Slovenia) and Chikhura Sachkhere (Georgia). The sanction is to be applied to the next European home matches of each one.

Steaua Bucharest, NK Maribor and Debrecen VSC are being punished for racist behaviour by some of their supporters during the second qualifying round of the 2014-15 Champions League on 22 and 23/07/2014. Chikhura Sachkhere are being punished for racist acts by some of their supporters at the second qualifying round of the 2014-15 Europa League on 24/07/2014. The four matches in question were home games.

The partial stadium closings will be applied to the following games: Steaua Bucharest in the second leg of the third qualifying round of Champions League against Aktobe (Kazakhstan) on 06/08/2014 (the score was 2-2 in the first leg on 30/07/2014); Chikhura Sachkhere in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the Europa League…
