FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover of €631m for the 2020-21 financial year, 6.7 times more than SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Bwin) with €94m, as the two clubs prepare to face each other on Matchday 5 of Group E of the 2021-22 Champions League at the Camp Nou (Barcelona, ESP) on Tuesday 23/11/2021 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

With a brand value of €1.266bn, FC Barcelona are ranked second in the "Football 50 2021" ranking published in May 2021 by the American company Brand Finance, a consultancy firm specialised in strategy and brand valuation, while SL Benfica are ranked 41^st. Barça was also ranked first (with $4.76bn) in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate), as established by the American business magazine Forbes in April 2021, while their Portuguese rivals were absent from the ranking.

With more than 290 million fans on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, as of 23/11/2021), FC Barcelona has nearly 40 times as many as the Lisbon (PORT) club, who total 7.3 million.
