Ligue 1: DNCG bans RC Lens from recruiting pending €4m payment promised by Hafiz Mammadov

"The DNCG (the French National Directorate of Management Control) has temporarily banned RC Lens (Ligue 1) from recruiting pending payment of the sum that our shareholder agreed to deposit in October 2014," said RC Lens on 05/08/2014.

Hafiz Mammadov, the club's majority shareholder, promised to deposit €4m in RC Lens' account in October 2014. The club committed to moving the date of the payment at its hearing before the conciliation board of the CNOSF (French Olympic Committee) on 23/07/2014. The appointed conciliator was in favour of RC Lens's promotion to Ligue 1 on 25/07/2014.

The executive committee of the FFF (French Football Federation) confirmed the promotion of RC Lens to Ligue 1 on 28/07/2014. The executive committee had asked the DNCG "to meet as soon as possible to determine the appropriate measures to be taken for RC Lens' participation in Ligue 1."
