Brazil 2014: "Very positive for the morale of Brazilians" (Zaluar, Brazilian Embassy in Paris)

"I think that the outcome was very positive for the morale of Brazilians because they realised that their country was able to organise and host this great event in a hot climate without incident," said Achilles Zaluar, minister-counsellor at the Embassy of Brazil in France, speaking to News Tank on 11/07/2014.

The diplomat said that the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, 12/06 to 13/07/2014) would benefit the entire economy of the country, particularly its tourism industry. "Hotel capacity in Brazil has increased due to the World Cup. [...] Keep in mind that we’re starting out far behind."

"Keep in mind that in 2016, Rio de Janeiro will host the Summer Olympics. The 2014 World Cup will help break down the stigma surrounding Brazil's ability to host major events to safely accommodate a large number of tourists.
