2021-22 Bundesliga: attendance for Matchday 13 (20,236 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 13 of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season drew an average of 20,236 spectators per match from Friday 26 to Sunday 28/11/2021. The average fill rate was 41.8%.

After a significant rebound that began on Matchday 8 of the championship, attendance at German stadiums has dropped significantly due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, particularly in the south and east. As was the case at the start of the season, most Bundesliga stadiums are back to very limited capacity, starting with the Red Bull Arena (47,069 capacity), which has been forced to host games behind closed doors by the local authorities for at least three matches (including RB Leipzig - Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 28/11/2021).

The only exception to this rule on Matchday 13 was 1.FC Köln - Borussia Mönchengladbach (4-1), which was played in front of 50,000 people on Saturday 27/11/2021 at the RheinEnergieStadion, a 100% fill rate. "One is surprised by these images when Christmas markets are closed in other regions," said Steffen Seibert, spokesperson for the German government, on 29/11/2021.
