Rugby: TV Asahi, official broadcaster of the Top 14 in Japan until the end of the 2021-22 season

The Japanese media group TV Asahi has acquired the broadcasting rights for the Top 14 in Japan, "from the weekend of 27/11/2021 until the end of the 2021-22 season, including the final phases," said the French National Rugby League (LNR) on 25/11/2021.

The pay-TV channel Asahi CS will broadcast one game each matchday of the Top 14 championship throughout the season, as well as all five finals matches of the 2021-22 season, including the play-offs, starting with the Union Sportive Arlequins Perpignan - ASM Clermont Auvergne match on Saturday 27/11/2021, a match involving, among other things, Japanese fullback Kotaro Matsushima (ASM Clermont).

"The pay-TV group Wowow was the broadcaster of the Top 14 in Japan over the 2017-2019 period. From January to March 2020 a few Top 14 matches were broadcast on TV Asahi before the season was eventually stopped.
