Arsenal FC - Newcastle United FC (2-0), opening game of the matchday (kick-off at 12:30 local time, 13:30 CET), was the game that posted the best attendance with 59,886 spectators at the Emirates Stadium (60,260 capacity), for a 99.4% fill rate. Two other matches drew more than 50,000 spectators. Burnley FC - Tottenham Hotspur FC was postponed due to heavy snowfall which made the Turf Moor pitch unplayable.
