Italy: "Still no agreement with RAI for broadcasting of the Beijing Olympics" (A. Araimo, Discovery)

"The highlight of our winter programming is the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, with full coverage as has already happened with the Tokyo Summer Olympics. Negotiations are underway with RAI (Italian public broadcasting group) for the free-to-air broadcasting, and streaming, of part of the event as last summer, but for the moment there is still no agreement and a definitive decision must be made in the next few days," said Alessandro Araimo, CEO of Discovery Italia, to Italian media, 01/12/2021.

"There is no certainty yet, to date there is no agreement with any broadcaster, in particular with RAI. If we don't finalise an agreement with RAI, we still have the possibility of broadcasting on the Nove channel (free channel belonging to the Discovery group). We are talking about 100 hours of Olympics that the IOC is asking to be broadcast free of charge," continued Alessandro Araimo.
