The FA (Football Association) plans to relocate abroad the Community Shield, the fixture between the winners of the Premier League and of the FA Cup, from 2018 onwards, said the FA's general secretary Alex Horne on 10/08/2014.

The contract tying the FA to Wembley Stadium (capacity 90,000, London) will end in 2018.

"It’s an interesting idea and we’ve seen the NFL (National Football League, USA) do something similar with their games coming to Wembley. The NBA (National Basketball Association,USA-CAN) are doing it and we know that Spanish football and Italian football are looking at doing that with their own Supercup-type games. So, it’s an interesting opportunity," said Alex Horne on 10/08/2014.

The NFL organises regular season games in Wembley since 1984. Three fixtures are scheduled in 2014: Oakland Raiders - Miami Dolphins (28/09/2014), Atlanta Falcons - Detroit Lions (26/10/2014) and Jacksonville Jaguars - Dallas Cowboys (09/11/2014).

  • Italy: the Supercoppa (Supercup) 1993 between AC Milan and Torino (1-0, on 21/08/1993) was relocated to the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium…
