Bundesliga: Puma interested in taking stake in Borussia Dortmund

Björn Gulden, CEO of Puma, indicated that the acquisition of a stake by the German sports brand in Borussia Dortmund's capital (Bundesliga) was "very possible", in an interview with the German weekly business magazine Wirtschaftswoche on 09/08/2014.

Puma has been Borussia Dortmund's kit supplier since 2012-13 and will continue through 2019-20. The contract costs €7m per year.

The German company Evonik Industries, an industrial supplier of petrochemical products, acquired a 9.06% stake in Borussia on 27/06/2014. The sale, effective 01/07/2014, was carried out through a capital increase. It was valued at €26.7m. Evonik has been a commercial partner of the club since 2006-07 and a shirt sponsor since 2007-08 and will continue as such through 2024-25. It paid the club €15m in 2013-14.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, the CEO of Borussia Dortmund, had said, on 27/06/2014, that an additional capital increase would take place between 01/07 and 30/09/2014.
