Mark Pannes (USA) resigned as a member of the board of AS Roma (Serie A) due to "new work assignments that are not compatible with his post," the club announced on 06/08/2014.

Pannes has been CEO since March 2011 of the holding company Raptor Holdco, which is owned by AS Roma's president James Pallotta and holds a 9% stake in the company NEEP Roma Holding SpA, the holding company that controls AS Roma. On the board of directors of the Roman club, his mission was to defend the rights of the holding company.

He was replaced on the board of directors by Stanley Gold (USA), 71, who was a member of the board of the Walt Disney Company from 1987 to 2003.

Pannes will, according to several Italian media outlets, be asked by James Pallotta (USA) to manage the proposal for the new stadium for AS Roma. The club presented its proposed private 52,250-seat stadium on 26/03/2014. The construction of the stadium will cost €300m; the club hopes play there at the start of the 2016-17 season.
