2021-22 Champions League: draw for the Round of 16 to be redone at 15:00 CET

"Following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other, a material error occurred in the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16," said UEFA, via Twitter at 13:43 CET on 13/12/2021.

"As a result of this, the draw has been declared void and will be entirely redone at 15:00 CET," added the European body. The initial draw was as follows:

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) were due to face Manchester United FC (Premier League) in the Round of 16 of the 2020-21 Champions League, following the draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon (SUI), on Monday 13/12/2021. The first leg was due to take place at the Parc des Princes (Paris, FRA), the return leg at Old Trafford (Manchester, ENG).

Winners of the 2020-21 edition, Chelsea FC (Premier League) were due to face LOSC Lille (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), while among the other Round of 16 fixtures (see full draw below), reigning Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich would have played Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander).
