Cameroon: former international Samuel Eto'o elected president of the Federation

Former Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (born 10/03/1981) was elected president of Fecafoot, the Cameroonian Football Federation with 43 votes to 31 for former president Seidou Mbombo Njoya, in Yaounde (CAM) on 11/12/2021.

"I'll be remembering today as one of the proudest moments of my life," said Samuel Eto'o.

"Every vote represents the energy and ambition of our football family to take our beloved sport to a level we've never seen before," added the former forward, two-time winner of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with Cameroon in 2000 and 2002.

The AFCON also represents his first challenge as president as Cameroon is due to host the next edition of the continental competition from 09/01 to 06/02/2022.
