2021-22 Serie A TIM: attendance for Matchday 17 (18,830 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 17 of the 2021-22 Serie A TIM season drew an average of 18,830 spectators per game from Friday 10 to Monday 13/12/2021. The average fill rate was just 46.3%.

Despite the capacity increase to 75% for Italian stadiums, approved by the authorities from Matchday 8 (mid-October 2021), from 50% previously, attendance remains unusually low for the Italian championship, with most clubs struggling to draw fans back to the stadium. In addition, a "super health pass" has applied in the country since 06/12/2021. This new regulation restricts access to hotels, restaurants, museums and stadiums to people who have been vaccinated or recently cured of Covid-19. A simple negative test is no longer sufficient for access to these public places as was previously the case.

AS Roma - AC Spezia Calcio (2-0), the closing game of the matchday (kick-off at 20:45 CET), was the game with the best attendance with 44,844 spectators at the Stadio Olimpico (68,530 capacity), for a fill rate of 65.4%. Just one other match drew over 20,000 spectators.
