Crimea: Ukrainian Federation calls on UEFA and FIFA to punish Russian Federation

Anatoliy Konkov, the president of FFU (Football Federation of Ukraine) asked FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) in an open letter to take "all necessary measures, including legal sanctions" against the FUR (Football Union of Russia) on 12/08/2014.

Konkov criticised FUR for its "illegal" integration of three Crimean clubs (SKChF Sebastopol, Tavria Simferopol and Zhemchuzhina Yalta), into the third Russian division in the 2014-15 season, on 31/07/2014.

SKChF (formerly PFC Sevastopol) and Tavria Simferopol played in Ukrainian Premier League in 2013-14. They were kicked out of the Ukrainian first division on 03/07/2014, after asking to be attached to the Russian federation, once Crimea declared its independence from Ukraine on 11/03/2014. The three Crimean clubs participated in Russian Cup matches on 12/08/2014.
