esports: Macron signs 1^st partnership with Team BDS (SUI), which replaces Schalke 04 in the LEC

Macron (ITA) has become an official equipment supplier of Team BDS from 2022, announced the Swiss esports organisation on 15/12/2021. "We are looking forward to the challenge of being their first partner in the esport industry," said Team BDS. This was also one of the first partnerships entered into by the Geneva-based company in 2019.

From the 2022 season onwards, Team BDS will play in the LEC (10 clubs), the highest level of European competition on the League of Legends video game (a circuit organised by LoL Esports, a subsidiary of Riot Games). Macron joins Nike, adidas, Kappa and Hummel among the sports equipment manufacturers represented in the LEC.

Team BDS bought FC Schalke 04's (2.Bundesliga) place in the LEC for €26.5m on 29/06/2021. FC Schalke 04 had chosen to enter its team, "FC Schalke Esports", into the LEC in 2018 by paying an entry fee of €8m. In 2021, Team BDS participated in the French national LoL league, the LFL.
