France/parliamentary inquiry on TV rights: 28 proposals including one free Ligue 1 game per matchday

French Deputies (MPs) Cédric Roussel (LREM/Alpes-Maritimes) and Régis Juanico (Génération.s/Loire), respectively rapporteur and chairman of the parliamentary inquiry on the broadcasting rights of sports events, presented their conclusions to the National Assembly's Cultural Affairs Committee and made 28 proposals, on 15/12/2021 (document available to download, in French).

Among these 28 proposals (see details below), are, notably, the introduction of a lot for one free-to-air game per Ligue 1 matchday in order to support the exposure of French football domestically, the introduction of a minimum public audiovisual broadcasting service, the updating of the decree on major sporting events, as well as proposals aimed at developing the economic model of sports clubs and at better regulating and supervising football.
