Bundesliga: EA Sports acquires rights of German league through 2017-18

The video game producer EA Sports extended its partnership with DFL Sports Enterprises, commercial subsidiary of the Bundesliga, to use the rights of the German league in the FIFA franchise through 2017-18, on 11/08/2014.

The company, headquartered in Vancouver (Canada), holds the exclusive rights to use the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga licences. All of the German league clubs will be modelled with the official logos, sponsors and kits of the season. EA Sports holds the rights of the Bundesliga since 1998.

FIFA 15 has been available by pre-order for the consoles PS3, PS4 (Sony), Xbox 360, Xbox One (Microsoft) and on PC since 10/06/2014. It will be released in North America on 23/09/2014 and in the United Kingdom three days later.

Partnership with Topps from 2015-16 through 2018-19

  • DFL Sports Enterprises also formalised a partnership with Topps, Dutch manufacturer of collectible cards and stickers, on 11/08/2014.
    • The company will hold the rights for the Bundesliga season from 2015-16 through 2018-19.
