Premier League: attendance for Matchday 18 (41,086 fans on average over 4 games, 6 others postponed)

Matchday 18 of the 2021-22 Premier League season drew an average of 41,086 spectators per game, for the four matches played on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19/12/2021. The average fill rate was 89.2%.

Newcastle United FC - Manchester City FC (0-4), on 19/12/2021 (kick-off at 15:00 CET), was the match that posted the best attendance with 52,127 spectators at St. James' Park. (52,305 capacity), for a fill rate of 99.7%.

The other six games on Matchday 18 were postponed due to too many players testing positive for Covid-19 in at least one of the two squads scheduled to play each other. Tottenham Hotspur FC - Liverpool FC (2-2) was played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,062 capacity) in front of a slightly lower attendance than usual (45,421 spectators, 73.2% fill rate), not because of a capacity limit, but simply because some of the London club's fans didn't want to go to the stadium and thus run the risk of being infected a few days before Christmas.
