US Salernitana: 10 days to find a buyer or "club will be excluded from the Serie A" (G.Gravina/FIGC)

"If a buyer is not found within 10 days, US Salernitana 1919 will be excluded from Serie A TIM on 01/01/2022," declared Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC, after an extraordinary meeting of the federal council on 21/12/2021. The reason: the Salerno club (Campania, ITA) is co-owned by Claudio Lotito, owner of another Serie A club, SS Lazio.

Promoted to the Serie A TIM at the end of the 2020-21 season, Salernitana has been entrusted to two legal structures (Melior Trust S.r.l. and Widar Trust S.r.l.) united under the name "Trust Salernitana 2021", responsible for managing the club and selling it before 31/12/2021.

The club, which Frenchman Franck Ribery joined in the summer of 2021, is 50% owned by Enrico Lotito (via Omnia Service Srl), son of Claudio Lotito, and 50% by the Mezzaroma family (via Morgenstern Srl), the family of the latter's wife. Claudio Lotito is already the owner of SS Lazio (Serie A TIM), of which Omnia Service is a "related party", as the Roman club's financial statements show.
