RFEF: Spanish Federation adopts a record budget of €406.56m for 2022 (+13.8% vs 2021)

"The extraordinary assembly of the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) has unanimously approved, the entity's 2022 budget; an estimated expenditure of €406.56m, which is the largest in its history," announced the Spanish Federation on 20/12/2021. This budget is 13.8% higher than that of 2021 (€357.39m).

Audiovisual rights (mainly national teams and the Copa del Rey) will be the RFEF's main source of revenue (€123.6m, 30.4% of the total budget), ahead of sponsorship and merchandising revenue (€91m, 22.4%) and refereeing revenue (€43m, 10.6%).

In terms of expenditure, €95.5m (23.5%) will go to clubs, €68.4m (16.8%) to national team competitions and events, and €45.7m to refereeing (11.2%).

The budget "is also the second largest budget among European federations, only behind The FA (ENG), and the highest in relative terms per population of the country. The extraordinary assembly has thus endorsed the growth path that, since 2018, has been maintained by the current management team," added the Spanish Federation.
