Bundesliga: Alexander Wehrle CEO of 1. FC Köln to join VfB Stuttgart in April 2022

"The VfB Stuttgart AG (the commercial structure of the Bundesliga club) supervisory board has named Alexander Wehrle as new CEO. 46-year-old Wehrle will take up the position in April 2022, following on from Thomas Hitzlsperger who has decided not to extend his contract," announced the German club on 22/12/2021.

Alexander Wehrle has been CEO of 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) since January 2013 and has decided to terminate his contract at the North Rhine-Westphalian club to join VfB Stuttgart, where he spent 10 years as a representative on the board of directors from 2003 until his appointment at FC Köln.
