Chevrolet replaces Volkswagen as partner of Brazilian federation through 2019

The American automaker Chevrolet has replaced Volkswagen as a partner of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and the new sponsorship will go through 2019, the CBF announced on 15/08/2014.

The Chevrolet logo will be on the training shorts of Brazilian players and on the LED advertising and communications of the CBF.

The German automaker Volkswagen had paid an estimated €3.3m in 2014. Chevrolet's contract is for a larger sum.

Chevrolet also acquired the naming rights to the Brazilian championship on 28/04/2014. Brazilian Serie A is now officially called Brasileirão Chevrolet.

Chevrolet wants to expand its sales in Brazil. The company sold 649,792 vehicles in the country in 2013, an increase of 1.1%.
