Premier League: Andalucía region, official tourist destination of Aston Villa in 2014-15

The Andalucía region has become Aston Villa's (Premier League) official tourist destination partner for the 2014-15 season, the Birmingham club announced on 14/08/2014.

The tourism brand of the "Andalucía" region will be displayed on LED advertising in Villa Park (capacity 42,700). Promotional activities will be organised during the season to promote the destination. The region in Southern Spain is visited by nearly 2.5m British citizens each year.

Aston Villa FC: key figures in the 2012-13 results

  • Aston Villa made a turnover of £84m (€103m) in 2012-13, a 5% increase compared to 2011-12 (£80m, €98m).
    • This was the tenth highest turnover in the Premier League in 2012-13, according to the British newspaper The Guardian, published on 01/05/2014.
  • Randy Lerner tasked the Bank of America Merrill Lynch to find a buyer for Aston Villa FC, indicated the American owner of the Birmingham club, on 12/05/2014.
    • Randy Lerner bought the "Villains" from Doug Ellis in August 2006 for £62.6m (€93.3m at the time).
