Covid-19/Premier League: 2 games on Matchday 20 postponed, 15 in total during the 2021-22 season

Leeds United FC - Aston Villa FC and Arsenal FC - Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, two games on Matchday 20 of the 2021-22 Premier League initially scheduled on 28/12/2021, have been postponed due to an outbreak of Covid-19 cases among the clubs' players, announced the Premier League on 26/12/2021. These two fixtures bring the total of matches postponed due to Covid-19 to 15 for the 2021-22 season, as of 27/12/2021.

Three games on Boxing Day (Matchday 19) initially scheduled on 26/12/2021 had already been postponed. In addition, 103 new cases were detected among players and club staff following a series of tests conducted between 20 and 26/12/2021 as part of emergency measures adopted by the Premier League, announced the English body on 27/12/2021.

"The League aims to provide as much clarity as possible, but unfortunately postponements sometimes have to be made at short notice, as safety is the priority," said the Premier League on 26/12/2021.
