Covid-19/France: a limit of 2,000 people indoors and 5,000 outdoors from 03/01/2022

• Limiting large gatherings to a maximum of 2,000 people indoors and 5,000 people outdoors
• Banning the consumption of food and drink in cinemas, theatres, sports facilities and public transport. These are some of the measures taken "to curb the Omicron variant", which will apply in France from 03/01/2022 for a period of three weeks, announced Prime Minister Jean Castex on 27/12/2021.

"The economic sectors impacted by the decisions that the situation requires us to take will be compensated within the framework of consultations that will be led without delay by the Minister for the Economy, Recovery and Finance, Bruno Le Maire," added the Prime Minister of France. In 2020, €107m was earmarked to compensate for the loss of ticket sales and another €100m in 2021.

In addition, the Council of Ministers adopted the "Reinforcement of health crisis management tools" bill, which "will replace the current health pass with a vaccination pass" on 27/12/2021. It will be necessary to be vaccinated to be granted access to restaurants, bars, museums, theatres, libraries, seminars and trade fairs…
