Borussia Dortmund: Revenues drop 14.5%, net profits down 76.5% in 2013-14

The Borussia Dortmund group (Bundesliga) had revenues of €260.7m in the 2013-14 fiscal year (01/07/2013 - 30/06/2014), down 14.5% compared to the previous year (€305m), the company said at the presentation of its preliminary results on 14/08/2014.

Adjusted for transfer gains, revenues were €256.2m in 2013-14, versus €253.4m the previous year, for a 1.1% increase. Operating expenses for Borussia were at €227.2m on 30/06/2014, and stable from the previous year (€225.2m). Payroll expenses were €107.8m, or 47.4% of total expenditures and 41.3% of revenues. They rose 1.5% from 2012-13 (€106.2m).

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were at €49.1m, versus €87.5m the year previous, for a 44% drop. Consolidated net profit was at €12m in 2013-14, 76.5% less than the previous year (when there was a record profit of €51.2m). 2013-14 is the third straight season in which Borussia have had more than €10m in net income.
